Motillo's journey began in 2012, with an idea to create digital solutions that deliver measurable results. Today we are 20 people, each bringing different areas of specialist expertise to the table. We have been awarded the Gasellföretag distinction by Dagens Industri — not just once, but twice. It is an award given to fast-growing, profitable companies, and fewer than 0.25% of Swedish companies have received it twice.
Our goal is to become the Nordic region's best digital growth partner
Our growth didn’t come from a large marketing budget or an army of salespeople. Instead, we have gradually grown through great collaborations that lead to strong recommendations. In fact, we didn't hire our first salesperson until as late as 2026.
Since our founding in 2012, our team has collectively put in a staggering 250,000 working hours together. That is time that has given us experience that few other companies possess.
But most importantly of all are the partnerships we have with our clients. We work closely together, toward shared goals, and our client collaborations last on average six years. And these are not just any clients. We have had the privilege of working with both ambitious, high-aspiration startups and established market leaders where the selection process was extremely rigorous.
Our goal is not to become the Nordic region's largest consultancy. But we will become the Nordic region's best digital growth partner. And we see every new client collaboration as an important step toward that goal.
Where does the name Motillo come from?
When we started Motillo, we had a clear picture of what we would offer. The business plan came together quickly, but for some reason it wasn't until we had to decide on a name that we began talking more about our identity and our purpose.
We had many suggestions for names that felt OK, but none were perfect.
One late evening we were browsing a thesaurus and stumbled upon the word "motility", which refers to an organism's ability to move on its own. For us, it captured a desire to keep moving, to constantly evolve, and to get from one point to another.
With a small twist on that word, the name Motillo was born, and in 2026 it feels more relevant than ever.
