Apex Stainless Fasteners, one of Europe's leading specialists in stainless steel fasteners, is part of the Bufab group, a corporation Motillo has a long-term, close partnership with. In this project we developed Apex's first e-commerce solution, a platform integrated into the group's digital environment.

Integration, flexibility and accessibility

Apex wanted to step into digital sales with a solution that could handle complex product data at high volumes, while being robust, scalable and easy to integrate. They had themselves carried out thorough preparatory work before concluding that Litium Commerce Cloud was the best option. By choosing Litium as the platform, we were able to create a solution that is future-proof, easy to maintain and fits well into Bufab's technical structure.

The design focuses on clarity, structure and functionality, with product information, filtering and searchability as central elements. The goal was to produce an accessible, easy-to-survey e-commerce where users can quickly navigate among thousands of products and access all the necessary information, such as technical documentation, stock status, prices and certificates.

Efficient sales with customer-adapted functionality

The e-commerce solution shares some functionality with other companies in the Bufab group, but several parts have been specially developed to meet Apex's specific needs. The platform is designed to support both external customers and the internal sales team, allowing Apex to offer a modern, professional buying experience.

Since launch, Apex has exceeded expectations with a conversion rate of 16.5% compared with the forecast 12.5%. A full 63% of active e-commerce customers use the platform daily to check stock levels and prices. There too, the target of 50% was surpassed. In a customer survey of more than 100 Apex customers, the e-commerce scored above the industry average, proof that the investment is appreciated by users.
