Star Trading improves the customer experience with smart functionality

In 2025 we were given the privilege of becoming the new digital growth partner to Star Trading in Svenljunga. We began the partnership by taking over the maintenance of their existing platform, while at the same time starting work on building a completely new solution.

About Star Trading

Star Trading in Svenljunga is a Swedish company that makes and sells various kinds of lighting – everything from Christmas stars to LED lights and solar lamps. They started back in 1985 and have become known for their metal Advent stars, which are still manufactured in Sweden.

They sell through retailers in both Sweden and other parts of Europe. The company has its head office in Svenljunga, where it also has a large showroom that customers can visit in person or view digitally. Since 2020 they have been part of the Austrian EGLO Group, but still retain their Swedish character.

About Star Trading

A new partnership

Star Trading had been a Litium user for several years and decided in 2025 to develop a new site based on the latest version of that platform. During a procurement process in the spring, we had the chance to tell them more about how we work to give our customers maximum benefit from their Litium solution, and we're very pleased that we got to begin a partnership and show this in practice.

We chose Motillo as our new e-commerce partner in tough competition with other agencies, as they stood out from the crowd in a positive way. They showed clearly how their knowledge and way of working would suit us, and felt engaged in us as a company early on! That they also turned out to be a really lovely bunch certainly didn't hurt. We look forward to a good and enjoyable partnership ahead.

About the new solution

Star Trading's e-commerce contains a range of unique features valued by all the retailers who use the current solution:

  • Smart functionality for managing different purchasing lists and sharing them between salespeople and customers
  • Handling of advanced product exports
  • Generation of product labels
  • ... and much more.

When the new platform launched in 2026, it also brought a major lift in terms of visual expression, usability and performance. We also implemented our in-house tool Motillo Insights, which provides a new level of decision support and the ability to follow sales in real time, with AI support to draw the right conclusions.
