Welcome, Elin Åberg, to Motillo!

Hi Elin! Tell us about yourself!
– I'm originally from Uddevalla but moved to Karlstad in 2015 to study Communication & PR at Karlstad University. The programme was very focused on communications, but there was a lot of competition for communications jobs after graduation, so I decided to broaden my job search. That led to me getting a position as an IT Project Manager at Värmlandstrafik, where I stayed for three years. After that I got a job at Sogeti, and I've been there for the past two years. During my time at Sogeti I've been involved in driving #addher, which is one of Sweden's largest networks for women in the IT industry — it's been incredibly fun.
What made you curious about Motillo?
- I worked with Filip at Sogeti when he switched to Motillo about 1.5 years ago. When I heard he was changing jobs, I Googled the company and read up a bit. I saw that Lina, who I studied with at KAU, also worked there, and it seemed like an exciting company.
A while ago I felt it was time to make a move, so I checked whether there were any open positions at Motillo. When I saw the role of Technical Project Manager, I immediately thought: "I want to apply for that" — but at the same time I was a bit unsure whether I'd fit in since I hadn't worked in e-commerce before. My partner pushed me to apply, so I took the chance — and it turned out great!
What will you be working on with us?
– My role is Project Manager with a focus on new client projects. In broad terms, that means I'll be handling resource planning, ensuring timelines are met, and similar tasks.
What are you looking forward to about working at Motillo?
– I sought out Motillo because I feel energised about working in a team. In my previous role I was often placed as a solo consultant, and there are definitely advantages to that, but I've missed having a team around me. I've got a great impression of the whole crew, and it's a big plus that there are often dogs in the office!
What do you do when you're not working?
– I spend a lot of time with my partner Robin and our friends. We love being out in nature and try to travel whenever we get the chance. When I turn 30 in November we're going to Mexico — I'm really looking forward to that!
But as someone from Bohuslän, don't you ever miss home in Uddevalla?
– No, I've found my home here in Värmland, so I definitely want to stay! Now that I've almost lived here for ten years, I think I can call myself a Värmländer? At least that's how I feel! Karlstad is home for me and I love living here.
Welcome, Elin — we're so glad to have you here!
